Heat treated, high quality American steel increases axle strength by over 100% compared to stock
Multiple heat treating process increases axle strength in excess of 300% compared to stock. The Eliminator series axle is an excellent choice for any hardcore riding or racing.
World record holder at 205 MPH, the X-33's multiple heat treating process and state of the art design makes this the world's strongest axle. All X-33 axles come with lightweight super strength cast or billet wheel hubs.
The DuraBlue Difference:
Proprietary heat treating process
Precision CNC machined
Over 35 years experience in axle design applications
Extended length to increase safety and stability for you and your ATV
Warranty to the original purchaser on all Heavy Duty, Eliminator and X-33 axles
The Heavy Duty axle is designed as a superior replacement for the stock axle. It's a cost effective choice when reliability is a prime concern. The Heavy Duty axle is designed for twice the fun and activity as your stock axle. The Heavy Duty axle has a six month warranty against bending and breaking (see WARRANTY for details). This axle comes with a long lasting zinc finish. All Durablue axles come ready for a complete install. You will not have to buy any additional parts! Parts supplied with your axle may vary. See pictures below for details.
2. Eliminator Axle
Eliminator is the worlds #1 axle. They are far stronger than stock and Heavy Duty axles. This is due to a proprietary multi-step heat treating process that provides excellent wear and strength characteristics. The process involves super heating the axle, cooling, then two more heats. This leaves the axles so hard they are not readily machinable or drillable yet can flex without breaking. They are then polished and chrome plated, giving you a product that is superior in strength as well as good looks.
The Eliminator axle comes in a standard length or an extended length, denoted as the 2+2. The 2+2 is a general term referrring to the over stock length. The actual length may vary slightly and most of the extended axles are adjustable by hub rings. Good for widening the tread width, adding stability.
Many of the models come with the patented Posi•Lock system which removes threaded sections from the flexing area of the shaft (a source of crack generation).
Use this axle for all forms of racing and high performance applications. It comes with a Warranty to Original Purchaser against bending or breaking (see WARRANTY for details).
The X-33 axle is a truely innovative axle design. The X-33 uses the same superior material and heat treating as the Eliminator. The unique difference is in the design. Standard design ATV axles neck down to about 1" in diameter. A splined wheel hub slides onto the axle shaft and is retained with a hex nut. As all ATVer's know, hubs loosen frequently. The X-33 changes all that. The wheel hub is clamped solid and driven by a pin on a 1-3/8" diameter shaft. This axle is rifled to reduce weight near the rotational axis of the ATV. The "straight bar" X-33 axle has no narrow or weak areas that can be prone to breaking.
This axle allows 16 different wheel offset alternatives. It comes with a Warranty to Original Purchaser against bending or breaking (see WARRANTY for details).
Heat treating is just one of the elements, but a very important one, to making a product such as an axle. The best performing metal product, in this case a Durablue axle, is the result of a tremendous amount of research and experience in the area of application (ATV's). Durablue has developed and evolved a multi-step process that began over 35 years ago. So, it is with some amusement that we see some marketing claims about heat treating axles. We want you to know that this process is nothing new for us. Our axles still define "state of the art" and you can bank on it.
Important Information Regarding 1985 250r Axle
Part numbers 85sp (sprocket hub), 20-1129, 20-1129sp, 20-1129ex and 20-2129ex axles are being discontinued.
However, you can use 86sp, 86sps (sprocket hubs), 20-1151, 20-1151sp, 20-1151ex and 20-2151ex axles instead on your '85.
The only difference is the sprocket hub. So, to use the newer '86-89 trx250r parts on your '85, you simple use the '86-89 sprocket and mounting bolts. That's it and it will fit your '85 perfectly.
